The Baxter Bomb Squad is not dead!! The prospects of a very busy 2001 just caused a realignment of priorities. We are facing two very exciting and important plant expansions starting Jan 1. Our Engineering & Maint. departments are completely booked. This is a good problem to have but it caused us to make some difficult decisions. Contary to popular belief, Baxter (Corporate) has not been a tremendous finanical supporter for a number of years. Most of our funding has come from local sources. That has been a strain and it didn't seem right to use that money if we couldn't give a total effort. I'm not talking about the robot but rather the time spent with the students.

We are planning to be back in 2002 and intend on staying involved this year. Some of our engineers and the senior students will probably volunteer at the events - maybe FIRST will even let me be a ref this year!
Maybe we will continue the tradition and host another brawl in 2001!
