I want to thank the Academy and...(sounds almost like an Oscar acceptance so far)...Ford Motor Co. for a job well done. I had concerns when I walked in the door Saturday and saw the size of the pits and the seating capacity in the multi-purpose room, but you know: it just didn't matter! It goes to show what hard work and careful organization of some dedicated people can accomplish. In fact, this was my favorite Invitational in many ways: it had a real cozy feel to it, a great set of announcers (esp. Joe/Woodie), gutsy refs (although they made some tough calls against my team), incredible trophies, and the matches ran like clockwork! All this doesn't just happen: I know that Sue's hand was at work in all of this and I'm happy that everything went so well for her, the Robohamas and Ford Motor Co.

: Hi everyone!! Just got back from a great competition at INTERNATIONAL ACADEMY. here are some of the results.

: friendliest team- 313, ford bionic zebras
: best offensive match- 47, chief delphi (yeah!)
: best defensive- 469 Las Gurillias (hopefully i got that right...this team put their whole robot on the line to prevent the opposition from scoring... awesome job guys!)
: girls' matches winners- team 5, alcoa-fujikura and melvindale high school 'RoboCards', Team 123 New Venture Gear and Hamtramck High- CosmoForce
: FIRST SEED- Team 5, Alcoa-Fujikura, Melvindale High the 'RoboCards'
: Most Photogenic- 235, Motown Live Wires with 'Sparky' (that robot is gorgeous!!)
: finalists- team 301- Probots, 235, Motown Live Wires
: and 469 Las Gurillias
: Champions- Team 5 (yet again!!) The robocards, Team 1 the Juggernauts, and Team 68 T3!!

: The trophies were beautiful, the game was well-done, the food was good and I had a great time. Oh yeah, DR. JOE made an AWESOME pit announcer. Thanks to everyone. You guys made this awesome.

: -Erin
