For those of you who were at GLR and saw our match against 201, their defense played on us was unbelievably well thought-out and impossible to play through. It was clean, penalty-free defense, and I talked to their driver afterward to congratulate him on it (and pray that we weren't against them in elims). Something that is very commonplace when teams cross each other to get their robots off the field is a quick "hey man, awesome match" "yeah you did great" and etc. Of the friends I've made driving, probably just as many of them were made driving against somebody as there were driving with them.

That being said, last year we were subject to a team that was explicitly told by their coach to ram us as hard as they could and push us over the side wall. It happens. Even though their drivers came up and apologized after the fact, it was still a rough move. Things will happen in the heat of the match. I've heard drivers yelling at their coaches (when it's supposed to be the other way around), coaches from other teams yelling degradingly at their partners, you name it. While I think it would be interesting for more people to be exposed to the high-stress environment behind the glass, I don't think the majority of FIRSTers (think of the parents and such) would benefit from it.
second this statement...well atleast the last part of the second paragraph

this is exactly the reason why there shouldn't be mic's on coaches in my opinion.
