I have tutored many people who only want to meet before tests to review and to help them study by quizzing them (this seems to be highly effective). Sometimes just having someone else explain it helps them remember it more. (I'm currently tutoring someone in honors chemistry, and this helps her a lot!) This can be a great resource if your school has something like this.

Yeah, deffinitly go to peer tutoring. I've tutored kids and helped them go from F's in science to at least C's. This is done by helping them on homework and also aggressively tackling study guides for tests and quizzes.
