every year, the Gunn Robotics Team puts on a 'tech challenge' for it's members.
The challenge is given in the form of a competition, complete with rules, strict
deadlines, limitations... the idea is to model the FIRST competition, in
preparation for the actual competition. the link below was taken from the San
Jose Mercury News, which is a large newspaper in GRTs area.

I don't know any of the details of this year's competition, having graduated...
Last year the students had to make a car that travelled under a bar, launched
an egg into the air, and caught the egg on the other side of the bar without
any damage. fun (messy) stuff...
