I'm really happy to see this. I volunteer at FIRST Place's Science Day Camps and I often get asked questions about how camps there are run, usually by a member of a team that is considering starting a camp on their own. So, thanks, FIRST, for giving me fewer PMs to respond to!
And now, a very tiny plug. If you know any 10-13 year olds that live in the Manchester area, or who would be willing to travel up for a week, there is still room in FIRST's Zany Zoobots camp, held on July 14-18. I'm not sure of any availability for the other camps, but you can check them out here, at
http://usfirst.org/community/firstpl...t.aspx?id=8162
(EDIT: it seems that the camps that are full have "(waitlist)" next to the name, and those that still have room do not. I can read, I swear!)
I hope that teams find some useful information in this. Summer camps are a great way to recruit new, younger members to FLL (and possibly FTC/FRC, depending on the camp you do) and get FIRST into your community.
