You mean like the Ion Drum Kit?

Not to mention you can play "almost all" the disc songs form Rock Band 1 as well. And 20 more songs will be released for free via DLC during the upcoming holiday season. They originally wanted 100+ songs on the disc, but won't be able to get all 100 integrated into the game by release, thus the free DLC.
With 100 songs, +~58 RB1 disc songs, +>200 DLC songs (172 as of 7/15, with 3+ new ones each week), the Rock Band 2 library will be by far the most extensive ever in a rhythm game.
There aren't a bunch of new features, but they have made numerous improvements upon Rock Band 1. No more "band leader", you can move your characters between instruments, battle of the bands, quick-play customizable setlists, and career mode improvements will make the game even better. Additionally, it has actual built-in drum lessons to help players expand into play actual drums, as well as the ability to play drums over mp3s ripped to your console.
