In Maryland-Public Lecture - July 17- NASA Robotics Academy -

Robots that Slither, Walk, Crawl, Roll and Assemble Themselves

Thursday, July 17th at 7:30 pm
Capitol College
Avrum Gudelsky Memorial Auditorium
11301 Springfield Road, Laurel, Maryland 20708

Dr. Mark Yim, from the University of Pennsylvania, is coming to present his work on reconfigurable robotics.

The lecture is free and open to anyone who would like to come.

How can we make robots that can change form easily enough for humans to reconfigure them – or to reconfigure themselves? Hear Professor Mark Yim of the University of Pennsylvania discuss the CKBot that can slither like a snake, roll like a tread, walk like a human or a dog, or travel on wheels like a car; “Self Reassembly after Explosion” efforts working towards robots that repair themselves; and a video that received viral explore through YouTube, Digg, Slashdot and hundreds of blogs last month.
