A.) Those Chinese girls look like they're 13, not 16 (they have to turn 16 sometime during 2008, from what I understand of the rules). Well hey what else is new.....

B.) The American team had to deal with a late scratch from one of their gymnasts. She could only participate in the uneven bars. The team had zero room for error most of the night as there was no 5th gymnast to compete so the team could get a "throwaway" score. Quite clutch with the performances, actually.

C.) I laughed when the American announcers got all un-GP with their "What now, French dudes?" commentary after the 400 free relay final.

D.) And this was most likely extreme coincidence (...), but did anyone else notice that a painting of Chairman Mao on the building across the street was in plain view over President Bush's right shoulder throughout most of his interview with Bob Costas?
