Real-time: Very close to real-time data acquisition. A lot of information at once.
Vision: Camera data. Probably serial data from the camera,but can be video too.
Processing: Doing something with the data. Develop a plan and work backwards.

FIRST, you need a plan of action to meet a specific goal. If it includes the above ability, then study it. There are no easy scenarios to this step. After all, you do have to know what type of data your looking at in order to interpret how to use it.
