Maybe this will give some perspective.

"Average" robot:
m = approx. 65kg
v = approx. 2.5 meters/second
KE = .5 * 65kg * (2.5 meters/second)^2 = 203 Joules

Speed Racer:
m = approx. 30kg
v = approx. 6.0 meters/second
KE = .5 * 30kg * (6.0 meters/second)^2 = 540 Joules
