I/we tried to attach some of the metal pieces and were disappointed by how poorly the two systems mated at that interface. We decided not to fool with it. Quickly figuring out the Tetrix parts was enough "fun".
During the regular season, with more time on one's hands, If a team figured out a good way to mate the structural parts you could maybe do some decent Tetrix-bot framing with the Vex stuff; but I'm not sure if that team would ever be really happy with the results.
Regardless - Since your mileage may vary - Everyone should give it a try at least once. I/we certainly didn't exhaust every possibility or have every clever idea (not by a long shot ) about how the parts can be used.
