:Another question I have is whats if it breaks like this during a match and you are able to right it but balls won't stay in it? Dean said to design a robot that would with stand a goal falling on it because it would be quite common. In my opinion this would come under FIRST equipment failing! Anyone else have a different view or a rule that clarifiles this? Thanks

That's just the way of this competition. All teams should build their robots so that they will not destroy any part of the playing field. But as you said, these accidents can happen. In that case, that means the robots aren't build well enough to handle the tower well, or it also means bad luck.

If you look at DQ4 under the game, it said "Deliberately damaging the playing field, controls, or balls is strictly illegal and will result in disqualification of your alliance"

In DA1: "If a robot accidentally damages the playing field, barrier, balls, or another robot, the referees may disable it for the remainder of the match. If the referees feek that further damage is likely to occur, corrective actions will be required to allow the robot to continue competing"

So the equipment failing is actually part of the challenge from FIRST to force you to handle the goals really carefully, but also build a robust robot so it can handle goals falling on it.
