Didn't at least one of the goals fall over during the demonstration at the kickoff? They seemed like they should be able to withstand a fall from the bridge. Is it possible that you have constructed it incorrectly.
I can't say anything about our goal, it is supposed to be finished tommorow.
Have you contacted Ron Roiux (sp?) to see if you are doing anything wrong. If this seems to be a problem, FIRST will probably issue an update with a more robust goal structure.
: I was wondering if there are other teams out there that have built goals already and are having trouble with them breaking? We have built two of them and tipped them in a controled manner and both of them broke. One fell off the bridge and broke and the other was on the playing field and we tipped it. Both goals fell on the flat portion of the upper octagon. However the breaking occured at the corners. Another question I have is whats if it breaks like this during a match and you are able to right it but balls won't stay in it? Dean said to design a robot that would with stand a goal falling on it because it would be quite common. In my opinion this would come under FIRST equipment failing! Anyone else have a different view or a rule that clarifiles this? Thanks
