5/16" cold steel shafts...

Coach on team #419, Rambots, from UMass Boston / BC High and NONE AT THE MOMENT! .

just a quick question...

we are planning to use these shafts for our drivetrain. Basically, we're mounting a bunch of wheels to it, and I was just curious if you guys have experience with these shafts bending....

we were tempted to get the hardened ones.... but we figured we wanted to drill some holes in them to pin them or something like that later on.... the machinist said he didnt like hardened ones... heh..

are these shafts strong enough? we dont expect to make them long and might support them only on one side due to the current design.

tips?
