Yes you can make a vaccuum using the low side of a mechanically actuated cylinder. The only thing you can do with this vaccuum is use it for a suction cup. Since we don't have two check valves you have a sort of one-shot vaccuum.

The suction cups probably leak a little. The question I have is how much? If a person used the max volume cylinder how long could he hold onto a ball? Just curious if any of the suction cup experienced teams have a feel for this or if anyone has done this test yet?
