A simple way (but not cheap) is to use a donut-shaped part called a "transtorque" (sp?)found in the Small Parts Inc. catalog; they come in a variety of sizes and work by a wedging action. You slide the trantorque into the hub/hole of the sprocket or wheel, then slide the shaft into the hole of the trantorque. There is a collar on the trantorque that is then tightened down and this smashes the trantorque into both the hub and the shaft. The frictional force has limits and won't hold in real high torque situations (ie. drive system), but works in most. You get twice the grip if you gang up a couple of the trantorques. There used to be a detailed explanation in one of the CDI sections somewhere on this site. Good luck!
: How do you attach the gears and sprockets to a shaft. We are unable to figure this out since this is our first year. If someone could help it would be appriciated.
