: In the first goal we made, with the 34+ inch base, the aluminum pipe touched the vertical pipe. When we rebuilt it with the 36+ inch base the aluminum pipes were well away from the vertical pipes. The drawings that came with the kit are wrong (per FIRST); use the drawings dated 1/8/2001 on FIRST's documentation page on their web site: http://www.usfirst.org/2001comp/Docs/

Before you build make sure you have CURRENT documentation. This is a problem even in the real world, get used to it. We tossed all of our Rev 1 drawings to make sure we didn't get confused. It is also important to remember that documentation changes can happen through Team Updates as well as drawing changes.
