...maybe we can have our robots pick up the corn and have to turn it into ethanol in the process of playing the game. That way we can get rid of our bulky batteries, and put combustible materials on the field!

Been there, done that, though only about 7 - 12 teams are still around. 1992, FRC's game Maize Craze. I remember looking through the rules once, can't remember where. Might have been at the TechnoKats History Project site. The floor? Corn.
