I think you have to drill three holes in the sprocket and attach it to the wheel mounting. The sprocket sort of becomes part of the wheel, and is not directly connected to the shaft. Anyway, this is what we did. We had a heck of a time getting the holes in the right place, though. Better get some advice from a good machinist.
