yes, the multiplexor is helpful for multiple touch sensors.
I think that teams can use a prototype board to expand their capabilities, but I don't think the prototype board can generate enough amps to power the sensors and stuff so you might be stuck with 3 ports as of now. But try the prototype boards and see if they work. They can be found at :
