3-d studio max

Hey,
This is our 1st competition and we were wondering how to handle the bottle neck of having only one computer loaded with the 3-d studio max program. I contacted an education vendor and they want a grand for each additional site lisence. Is their a way to get the software on additional computers without coughing up additional monies? Also any suggestions about the best way to put the animation together would be greatly appreciated. We've got our story board done but dividing up the work is where things have bogged down. Thanks.
M Hetman
