If you are thinking of making time adjustments you have to remember that the number of teams is growing exponentially each year and you can't have regionals running for 5-6 days. Most likely, the time will stay the same, but instead, another team will be added to the alliances.

Also, as far as multiple autonomous periods are concerned, I don't think it'll be possible {^} instead, i think more teams will use buttons to set off programmed series of movements or automatic movements based off sensors. [we'll definately try] because

As far as the game's concerned, multiple game piece shape/sizes [as in not just changing scale] seems possible and an interesting idea because a universal arm/hand would probably not work
