Re: cant get NXT to connect to controller station via bluetooth
- Verify that the Bluetooth Dongle is using the Generic Windows Driver.
- Is the NXT battery fully charged?
- Is the NXT Bluetooth turned on and not set to invisible?
- Is the NXT buried behind too much metal, preventing the signal from reaching the controller?
- Is the NXT too close to an active 802.11 a,b,g or N WiFi system? Turn off the WiFi source or move further away.
- Is the correct NXT name entered into the Robot Control Station?
- Are you able make a Bluetooth connection to the NXT using NXT-G? If yes, close the NXT-G program before starting the Robot Control Station.
- Remove the NXT battery for 15 seconds and try to make a Bluetooth connection.
- Run the Windows Bluetooth Device Manager. Does the NXT appear in the list of devices? Delete the NXT and re-establish a Bluetooth connection using the Bluetooth Device Manager. Next, try to connect to the NXT using the Robot Controller Station.
- Run the Windows Bluetooth Device Manager.
----Select the NXT from the device list
----Select the Properties Button
----Select the Services tab at the top of the Properties window
----The Properties Window will switch to an empty Services window with an animated flashlight to depict searching for available services for the device chosen
----When the animated flashlight finishes searching, a service (Serial port (SPP) 'Dev B') should be listed. Verify that the check box to the left of the service is checked.
----Select OK at the bottom of the Services Window
----Using the Robot Controller Station, try to establish a Bluetooth connection (up to 4 tries)
- Is the latest FTC NXT-G firmware installed on the NXT?
- Have you tried a different computer? Some brands of notebooks can insist on using a manufacturer's driver instead of the Generic Windows Driver. The Generic Windows Driver should be used.
- Did the Passkey screen appear on the NXT display? If yes, did you press the Orange button on the NXT to approve the Passkey?
- Is the NXT using the default Bluetooth Passkey (1234)?
