We have had only ONE, count 'em, ONE casualty all last year and all this year (so far, that is). The casualty resulted from jumping over the playing field border and smashing one's elbow on the ground (broke the joint).

Oh yes, I've had personal experience with staples suddenly stabbing into fingers too...you're not alone (thats what I get for not paying attention).
