As long as the "decorative" battery is easily seen that it's different from the FIRST battery, I don't see a problem with this...after all, the only rule I see about # of batteries is C20 - During each competition match, your robot may contain only one of the two batteries provided by FIRST. The way I see that, you could put a different battery in, as long as it was isolated from the control system(and make the isolation easy to see). I would recommend e-mailing Eric at FIRST to get the official ruling on this, however...
