Re: Source for pool noodles
Just visit a local pool/spa supply company (the ones where you buy chemicals and the like). Most of these stores also have pool accesories (including noodles), and some are open all year round. We've been able to easily find pool noodles at these stores in the middle of winter in Connecticut.
// Disclaimer: you will get really odd looks walking into a pool store in February and buying a dozen pool noodles.
