You most likely have an older processor that doesn't support the SSE2 instruction set. See the Autodesk Knowledge base entry at

Solution


This issue occurred because your CPU does not support SSE2 instruction sets.

Inventor 2009 has been optimized to take advantage of the SSE2 extended instruction sets supported on Pentium 4, AMD Athlon 64 and AMD Opteron processors. Inventor 2009 will not install on computers that do not support SSE2.

There are several utilities available on the internet that can be used to verify your CPU capabilities, including supported instructions sets. For example, CPUZ
