We are using treads and that seems to work well.

Two goals are grabbed and we go to balance. Going forward, we do OK, balancing automatically about 50% of the time, the first try. Going backward, we have more success. For some reason, balancing while driving backward is close to 90% so far.... hmmm.

If we miss balancing the first try, we get it on the second (since we are going backwards). We probably oughta back up the bridge initially. Or, it could be that our bridge is a bit unbalanced. Oh, well, it's crated.

We'll surely tweak this some more at the competitions.
