I would suggest to make this more successful to spend some time with graphics. Do what most fraternities and sororities do and modify them[You're a Tridelt so I am assuming you know you know what I'm talking about]. (Example and Example)

And sure being original and creative is good, like your orbit ball picture on a shirt, but if you're going to do something plain, I would think about the above. And I'm not saying take the logos for face value, but make them your own. Rebrand TEAM logos. Instead of BMW logo use a FIRST Team's logo and play on that.

I know that the designs are just text, but think of the shirts being sold today with one liners and catch phrases. Just as Elgin mentioned, "Team Edward" shirts are practically a staple now on teenage girls, and that shirt is as simple as a black shirt with white text. And quite honestly, anyone who knows me to be the one time prospective fashion major or have seen the previous shirts I have designed, I'm all for graphics. But when it comes to budget, simplicity, and versatility to a wide range of consumers, one phrase comes to mind, K.I.S.S.
