I was a field attendant at the Western Michigan Regional and have the answer for you.

There is no powering up of any robot after the match is over. This includes using your tether or other powering device to move your robot. Consult the main rules for the FIRST competition, they are very specific on this matter. There are no exceptions.

There is a target time of 2.5 min. after a match is over for clearing the field and the setup for the next match. Having robots not able to let go of things is a real problem.

You will need to alter your robot.

I was also a robot inspector and we checked for just such a problem.
