pressure sensors

Did any of the balance-bots(bridge manipulators) use pressure sensors to detect if the bridge is balanced? Maybe modification of the pnuematics pressure valve could be used. i.e. check the pressure if it is greater than some value there is pressure, this would in essence create a sensor that is variable?

I know it's a little after the fact but I want to know what cool things people have done that might help us out . Our bot doesn't have these abilities so we don't have any of these features but they were some things which I thought up a while ago, and since I have only recently joined the forum wanted to ask about them . . .
