And are you even going as far as saying a person can be defined as an "item"?

I recall in years past team members were allowed on the field during practice days on Thursdays (which we've gotten away from) & in more recent years (2005 & 2006 specifically) I've seen Referees (Head Referees no less) jump on the field to prevent precarious situations with robots and/or game items.
