Team 624 did shoot a few balls around the 5 ft. mark, but only because we were either pinned or because it was nearly the end of the match, definitely not as a primary scoring method. We had tested our shooter to be effective at that range, but that was only our turret distance, our manipulator did all the aiming on the horizontal axis. Surprisingly it was fairly effective, and a few times we scored 4 or 5 balls with this strategy.

Personally I have yet to see a robot who primarily does long-range shooting as their first method of scoring. And we all know after 15 feet or so accuracy goes out the window with most human players, so maybe it is a little early to be expecting the same thing from robots (maybe at Atlanta?).
