I think that this year the very point you make was very frustrating to the stragety coaches. No mater the level of team when discussion was held in the two min. prior to the match each team wanted to showcase their robot and its abilities. In many cases seperating fact ( what the machine and drivers can do ) and fiction ( what the team thought the robot could do ) was a real concern.

This is where competitive assessment was very important. Knowing the strengths of the 12 was hard but necessary to get max. scores.

We all need to consider a very important point: Many things can go wrong from the established plan. Robots do break or respond odd at times. Drivers do make errors. And most of all, the forces of nature we are competiting against are often different then we expect.

To each and every alliance we were with at the regionals ( UTC, NY, MI ) and the nationals I commend you for your great machines and the skill and effort of your drivers. Scores do not tell the whole story and often do not show the situation as it occured in both high and low scores.

It was an honor for Chief Delphi #47 to play a match with each and every team no matter the outcome. I know in my heart that each team gave it their best effort and that is all that can ever be asked of any team.

Thank You.
