Sounds like you want a different part. That switch is for measuring pneumatic pressure; I would suggest Kamen Tote>>Gates Pack>>Microswitch.
In response the other half of your question, I/O stands for Input/Output, in this case you want digital in, so that's the one you want. PWM is
Pulse Width Modulation, which is for controlling motors.
