That being said, I believe you are correct that the ZPG proposal has it at 2 children/couple.
Yes, and some of those children meet an untimely death. I simplified it for the post, but the average needs to be 2.0, so to achieve this the birth rate does need to be somewhat higher.

I have to go now, my 0.1 child needs to be changed...
