That's too bad that Ahmet Zappa comes off like that. If it means anything he was absolutely great in person; very interested, very respectful, and very, very funny. I think his tone is just confusing to some people, basically everything he says is tongue in cheek. I mean he knows and we know that the obstacles aren't going to chew up the robots or anything. But he can't just say "no need to watch out for the spikes cause they're harmless," so instead he just kind of goes the other way and totally hypes up everyhting. I guess it's kind of hard to explain how I interpret him and to each his/her own I guess.
The next season of Robotica (though nothing is set yet) will be many magnitudes better and I encourage everyone to apply for being a contestant. It was way more fun than FIRST or BattleBots, though I do love both.
