Thanks so much all for your input. I had just one problem in your responces: my team always seem to struggle to keep any members. We've never had any SPAM-wannabes who ever stay on past the first semester. Either they become real team members or leave the team. We start out the year with 65 or so they widdle down to 20 to 25. We have no requirements for staying on the team. Each person must pay a fifty-dollar fee to attend both KSC regionals and nats and most of the rest of our fees are payed by our many sponsors. Our time we put in at meetings and fund-raising events also earns us daily food money at nats and regionals. I guess being a FL team and not having near as much travel costs has something to do with that.
The application process is just going to be used to see what people know already (or at least think they not), not really to try to get rid of people who have no skills. Even I have a job on the team. If I can get a job on a FIRST team, anyone can. lol
