Programmers of FIRST, function call!

Posted by Gui Cavalcanti at 04/29/2001 10:21 AM EST

Student on team #422, Mech Tech, from Governor's School (GSGIS) and Verizon.

A play off of 'workers of the world, unite'... oh nevermind. It's a corny title anyways....

For all you programmers out there (Oh, and if you're reading this and are not a programmer, please forward this message on to that member(s) of your team), Team 422 has a new Mecca for you; the FIRST Codex. It's not complete yet, but it still has a LOT of information up; it's the perfect place to go if you're learning PBasic or just want to see other teams' code for comparisons and techniques.

Please, PLEASE persuade your programmers to send us copies of ANY robot code they have; we're still building, and we need code to keep going. It doesn't matter if it was last years' 'bot that placed 82nd out of 84, we don't really care, just send it. We even have Team 365's (National champion) code from both years. Programs will be fully cited and available in full form on sections of our website, and there is even a Yahoo! Group that we have formed that anyone can sign up for.

Thanks so much,
Gui Cavalcanti
