Re: pic: Paul And The Pig
It's time for a Suzy Q update.
Shortly after the 2008 IRI, Suzy Q was moved to Peru, Indiana, and lived in the yard of a rural home. Suzy Q ran with the dogs and minded the owners until she got big and started destroying some things. During these last 10 months, Suzy Q has grown to be a hefty gilt at about 350 pounds. She has stayed in a pen for the last 5-6 months.
This past weekend, Suzy Q got out of her pen (350 pounds of pure muscle is not easy to contain) and rambled over to the neighbor's yard. After getting Suzy Q back in her pen, the owners have realized that she is just too big for them to handle.
Yesterday, the owners were very close to contacting me, as I have offered to buy the pig back and take it to a processing plant (sausage, bacon, chops, etc.). HOWEVER... this same family went to the feed store last night and met a kind lady who is willing to let Suzy Q live on her farm in Amboy, Indiana.
So, the good news is that Suzy Q moved from Peru to Amboy and will live with another pig, 2 goats, a few dogs, and a horse.
The bad news is that the Bakers will need to go to the grocery store for more bacon.
