Some of thise are 'fake' statistics, in that they appear to convey a certain piece of information, but really do not.
For example, "The 25% of India's population with the highest IQs" is exactly the same as saying "25% of India's population". So, what they are saying is that India has a population more than four times as great as the USA. OMG!
What a revalation!
Or that China has 1.3 billion citizens. And almost 25% of them have some English in school. China will never be an English-speaking country in our lifetimes; they speak Chinese. But they might have a lot of people who "speak" chinese, just like you "speak" spanish or french after 2 years of it in High School.
and so on.
