Considered going into the military...yeah, I would fall into this category. I really really tried actually. I wanted to go into the US Navy. I was supposed to go up to Boston University on a NROTC scholarship, and I was actually going to be on their FIRST team, while up there. So, that had my 4 years covered with FIRST. After that, I would've been on 4 years active duty and a surface warfare officer, and then 4 years inactive. I would've been one of their engineers, of course. Unfortunately, all my plans fell through, because the day before I was supposed to leave, I found out that I was disqualified because of my medical history, stupid childhood asthma. Yes, they disqualified me based off of two asthma attacks, once when I was 10, the other when I was 11. ::grumble grumble:: But, I tried to be in the military, and I had all intentions of staying in FIRST, but then again, I wasn't on active duty for the first 4 years. :-) Good luck out there, be careful, and have fun. And you better come back to FIRST in 2003. :-)
