There are a few simple and easy ways to get a distance with one camera though, we used the trig method.
Distance (inches) = (target height (In.) - camera height (in)) / tan(camera angle)
but you got it to track trailers in the first week!? ours still doesn't even work properly (we had it work in the shop but never at a comp)
(also breaking our driver station in the 2nd week didn't help)
