Everyone who's attended a boring presentation (and yours certainly won't be one
) knows the importance of slide numbering. If you let people know you're boring them but it's already slide 20/23, you will be OK. It's just a nice thing to have on the corner of the slide to inform the audience their pain will be over soon - I find it to be a gentle move by the presenter, and I certainly appreciate a presentation with this.
