Before you decide you should check viewing distance vs. screen size. Too large (too close a viewing distance) and you will get a headache as your eyes are constantly moving around the screen. check here...

You are lucky to be able to make this decision. I was not allowed to have TV when I was in school, nor refrigerator, microwave, nor computer. And we didn't have air-conditioning in that dorm either.
