Re: Survey! Help with Capstone Engineering Project
1. Have you worked with power tools?
Yes
2. Have you ever been exposed to flying debris, such as dust or chips?
Yes
3. When you use power tools and/or are exposed to debris, do you wear safety glasses?
Yes
4. If yes, then what percentage of the time do you wear safety glasses?
61-80%
5. Have you ever been injured as a result of not wearing safety glasses?
No
6. Do you have any reasons why you do not wear safety glasses? (Please explain)
A few. First, if I need one hole and the safety glasses are someplace else(i.e. I'd have to drive to get them or walk in excess of 200 yards). If I'm in a hurry, and don't have time to look for them. I already have glasses so if the debris is minor enough, I tend to ignore it.
I would just like to make a note to my answers: I do use power tools all of 3 times a year.(If you want to exclude my data, do so. However, I thought I'd fill it out in case you needed more responses.) Also, while I did post my reasons for sometimes not wearing safety glasses, they are NOT good reasons. There really isn't a good reason for not wearing safety glasses in those circumstances.
