These machines are a huge help. In 2008 we used our PlasmaCAM table to mock up our shooter, among other parts of our robot. It's really fast (8.4kW torch) to cut even in thicker stuff (1/8" sheet).

Luckily, since your machine is used, someone probably has all the magic calibration numbers written down for your torch... the members/mentors on our team who set up ours had some frustrated moments...

Have fun... I wonder what your first test part will be...

p.s. when they say 'well ventilated area' and 'wear welding shields' in the manual they aren't kidding.
