3DVIA Mobile is an IPod App that allows you to place SolidWorks models and 3DVIA models on your IPhone.
1. Go to
www.3DVIA.com/mobile to download the App. Currently, 3DVIA Mobile is a free App.
2. Install the 3DVIA Mobile App on your IPhone.
3. Select the 3DVIA App and select a model to view, pan and rotate. You can search for Robots. I created the model "Tetrix" with help from our partner Pitsco. Then I took a photo with my phone and Tetrix is spinning in my IPod window.
4. To publish your SolidWorks robot assembly, select File, Publish to 3DVIA (you need SolidWorks 2009 Education Edition or Student Edition)
5. Upload your SolidWorks model to
www.3DVIA.com. You will have to create an account. Enter tags such as Robot, FRC, Vex, Your Name
6. From your IPhone, select the 3DVIA Mobile App and search for your robot.
