'Twas the calm before kickoff, in the whole CD house
The keyboards were silent. No one clicked their mouse.

The FIRST page was open and watched with great care
In hopes that the game hint soon would be there

The students with iPhones monitored threads
While visions of moon-fish danced in their heads

And I in my office working through year-end crunch
Had opened the browser while eating my lunch

When out on the home page there arose some new matter
I clicked on the subject to join in the chatter

Into the posting I tore like a flash
Hoping my browser would not crawl or crash

The words at the top of the newly shown page
Made me feel like a chump, but didn't enrage

BECAUSE IT WAS A FALSE ALARM!!

Oh, well. I'll keep watching and waiting...
